The South Tamworth Fire Station in NSW is a state-of-the-art regional facility designed to support frontline response and operational leadership, including the Regional North Zone Office.

The development brings together training areas, a gym, amenities, and a dual-engine bay to serve a wide range of day-to-day and high-pressure functions. With constant movement, equipment handling, and multiple spaces operating simultaneously, the interior needed a finish that could withstand impact while remaining warm and welcoming.

Decorative timber planks were selected to deliver a durable, attractive lining with acoustic benefits, suited to a busy emergency services environment. The result is a practical interior solution that supports both performance and comfort.

Our
Contribution

We supplied and procured the acoustic and decorative timber planks to deliver a hard-wearing, visually refined lining solution across key internal areas. We supported the project team with a specialty lining option that met NCC fire requirements and relevant acoustic and sustainability criteria.

What We Procured

  • Acoustic wall & ceiling systems
  • Timber and hybrid linings
  • Fibre cement panels
  • Architectural finishes
  • Metal, aluminium or screening elements
  • Fit-out elements
  • Specialist or custom materials
Most materials were manufactured through our partner network, drawing on more than 50 years of Australian experience in engineered acoustic and architectural systems.

Technical Requirements Supported

The project required the following:
  • Fire ratings and documentation
  • Acoustic performance requirements
  • ESG, sustainability or Green Star/ISCA criteria
  • Accessibility, durability or moisture resistance requirements
  • Panel layouts, prototyping, or pre-installation coordination
Myee Collective coordinated the documentation required for Group fire ratings, acoustic performance, sustainability certifications and delivery sequencing to support project timelines.

Community
Outcomes

By improving acoustic control and resilience in high-activity zones, the station is better equipped for training, administration, and rapid operational response, without unnecessary noise fatigue for crews working long shifts. The robust interior finish helps reduce maintenance demands over time, keeping the facility reliable and presentable for the people who depend on it. Most importantly, a fit-for-purpose station enables emergency services to operate efficiently, thereby strengthening safety and preparedness for the South Tamworth community.
