The Heffron Centre in Sydney’s east is a contemporary sporting, community and leisure hub designed to bring elite performance and everyday recreation under one roof. As the new home of the NRL team, the Rabbitohs, the facility features publicly accessible spaces including a café, hall of fame, merchandise shop and a dedicated fan zone overlooking the NRL-standard showcase field.

Beyond rugby league, the centre also caters for netball, basketball, badminton, gymnastics and more, creating an inclusive destination for a wide range of users. Designed by Co.Op Studio, the architecture was shaped through community consultation and inspired by Randwick's culture and character, with a strong focus on accessibility, social activation, and local pride. The result is a multi-purpose venue that celebrates the Rabbitohs’ legacy while serving as a vibrant community asset for sport, gathering and connection.

Our
Contribution

A collaboration with Co.Op Studio, the task was to deliver custom acoustic solutions that embedded the Rabbitohs’ identity directly into the fabric of the building. We supplied perforated acoustic panels with an engraved Rabbitohs logo on blackcore MDF, leveraging its Group 2 fire rating and high acoustic performance to support a variety of spaces throughout the centre.

In addition, we provided slatted panels with a printed heritage Rabbitohs image as the backing panel and black slats printed with the club logo, creating a striking feature wall in the Clive Churchill Board Room.

What We Procured

  • Acoustic wall & ceiling systems
  • MDF panels
Materials were manufactured through our partner network, drawing on more than 50 years of Australian experience in engineered acoustic and architectural systems.

Technical Requirements Supported

The project required the following:
  • Fire ratings and documentation
  • Acoustic performance requirements
  • ESG, sustainability and Green Star
  • Supply Nation certification
  • Panel layouts, prototyping, or pre-installation coordination
Myee Collective coordinated the documentation required for Group fire ratings, acoustic performance, sustainability certifications and delivery sequencing to support project timelines.

Community
Outcomes

The integrated branding within the acoustic panels reinforces a strong sense of pride, history and teamwork for players, staff and fans alike. As people move through the centre, seamless transitions between spaces and consistent visual cues, club colours, logos and heritage imagery, help foster camaraderie and belonging.

At the same time, the high-performance acoustic treatments support comfort, clarity and usability across busy public areas and internal rooms, ensuring the Heffron Centre functions as both a high-energy sporting venue and a welcoming community environment.
