Rooted in local history and framed by its surrounding parkland, Everton Park Library is a community hub that thoughtfully serves both people and place.

The architecture responds sensitively to its environment, shaping the building around the existing tree canopy and opening up to expansive views of the neighbouring park. Warm timber finishes and tactile surfaces subtly reference the area’s timber milling heritage, embedding local stories into the fabric of the interiors.

Carefully planned to buffer noise from the nearby arterial road, the library creates a calm and welcoming refuge that supports reading, learning and connection. Indoor and outdoor spaces flow seamlessly, accommodating a wide range of community uses while strengthening the relationship between the building, its landscape and its users.

Our
Contribution

Decor Systems supplied custom decorative Milano panels in Smartlook Blackbutt, bringing rich warmth, tactility and visual coherence to the library’s interior.

Working closely with the architect, our team produced detailed shop drawings to align perfectly with the design intent, then manufactured the Group 1, GECA-backed panels locally at our Glendenning, Sydney factory to ensure quality, precision and reliability.

While the panels in this project are non-acoustic, the system can be engineered to achieve acoustic performance up to 0.80, where future projects require additional sound control.

What We Procured

  • Acoustic wall & ceiling systems
  • MDF panels
Materials were manufactured through our partner network, drawing on more than 50 years of Australian experience in engineered acoustic and architectural systems.

Technical Requirements Supported

The project required the following:
  • Fire ratings and documentation
  • Acoustic performance requirements
  • ESG, sustainability and Green Star
  • Supply Nation certification
  • Panel layouts, prototyping, or pre-installation coordination
Myee Collective coordinated the documentation required for Group fire ratings, acoustic performance, sustainability certifications and delivery sequencing to support project timelines.

Community
Outcomes

The completed library offers a tranquil, character-rich environment where visitors can read, study and gather in comfort, despite its proximity to a busy road.

The use of timber-look finishes and carefully detailed wall treatments reinforces local heritage, helping the community see their history reflected in a contemporary public space.

By integrating high-performance, sustainably certified materials and supporting local manufacturing, the project not only delivers a beautiful and functional library but also contributes to community pride, environmental responsibility, and long-term well-being.
